Kay County Council for the Opportunity Center Scholarship

Limited to Kay County, OK residents, and/or Kay County, OK High School Graduates

For: College junior, senior, or graduate students majoring in Special Education, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy or related fields. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.

Scholarship Amount: $500.00 total for one year, to be awarded $250.00 per semester.

Requirements and Regulations:

Recipient of the award may choose any approved institution in which to take the necessary training.
Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee no later than June 1.
Applicants should have a 3.00 grade point average throughout college work to qualify.
In addition to completing the attached application, the applicant must provide the following information:
A) Official College Transcripts
B) A resume, which should include college honors, interests and activities
C) Work Experience and job history
D) A short written narrative describing your future career plans and how plans relate to this application. Include your plans regarding your job choice and possibilities following completion of your studies. Also, please list any personal work experience you have had with people with disabilities. Include any other information you would like the Scholarship Committee to review.
E) Attach three letters of recommendation from the following:
Former teacher, employer, activity sponsor, or someone who has known you over a period of time, not a relative. Please make sure an address and phone number for each recommendation is included so they may be contacted if needed.
